These are not Values! They are enumerations of our mission or baby steps toward achieving our vision. Let's review some basic terminology, folks. MISSION is what we are now - - in 2008. E.G., Learning - we provide a quality educational opportunity for Northwest & Northcentral Indiana; Discovery - we pursue a modest program of research and publishing; Engagement - as a responsible citizen, we contribute to our community by way of service. VISION is where we want to be - - in 2013. (See comments on that Blog page.) VALUES are statements of attitude that describe how we will behave as we go from Mission (2008) to Vision (2013). E.G., (1) we treat every student and employee with respect and work as a team; (2) we celebrate diversity; (3) we want each student to reach their full potential; (4) each time a students fails, we feel as if we have failed, as well; (5) we support our faculty in pursuing excellence in research and publication; (6) we welcome contact with our community and are willing to serve them.
